HEART OF THE HOUSE HOSPITALITY
ACQUIRES NEW YORK CITY-BASED THE SUPPORTING CAST
Adds significant presence in New York City and 26th market nationwide
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Jan. 4, 2019 – Heart of the House Hospitality announced today that it has acquired The Supporting Cast. Both are staffing companies.
The acquisition adds to Heart of the House’s hospitality expertise and allows the company to expand into the clerical, events, catering and administrative-support placements that The Supporting Cast has developed over 30 years in business.
The acquisition gives Heart of the House a strong presence in New York City with more than 90 clients, an operations team to oversee the market and about 400 hourly associates. Heart of the House is now in 26 markets nationwide and provides staffing for around 500 clients every day.
“Three qualities attracted us to The Supporting Cast,” said Heart of the House President and Chief Financial Officer Shawn Madden. “Most important, the two companies share values. The acquisition expands our hospitality expertise in one of the nation’s best hospitality markets. And we have an opportunity to begin serving new industries by tapping into The Supporting Cast’s valuable experience.”
This is Heart of the House’s first acquisition. The company grew 15 percent in 2018, mostly through de novo growth in markets such as Philadelphia; Washington, D.C.; Richmond, Va.; and Charlotte, N.C.
The acquisition was completed on Dec. 31, 2018.
Heart of the House will retain all associates from The Supporting Cast.
Phil Jakeway, IV, will join the Heart of the House leadership team and oversee the New York market. He had served as chief operations officer for The Supporting Cast since early 2014.
“Both Heart of the House and The Supporting Cast share a passion for exemplary customer service and client success,” Jakeway said. “Everything revolves around being the best partner possible to clients and filling positions with top talent.”
